Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response

JUSALPA is committed to preventing and responding to gender-based violence (GBV) through comprehensive programs that provide support to survivors and raise awareness within communities. Our initiatives include the establishment of safe spaces for women and girls, provision of psychosocial support, and legal assistance to GBV survivors. We also conduct community education campaigns to challenge harmful norms and promote gender equality.

Child Protection

Protecting children from violence, exploitation, and harmful practices is a key focus of our Protection work. JUSALPA implements child protection programs that provide safe environments for children, particularly those who are unaccompanied or separated from their families. We work with schools, community leaders, and local organizations to identify at-risk children and ensure they receive the care and support they need to thrive.

Protection of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)

Internally displaced persons often face significant protection challenges, including a lack of access to basic services, insecure living conditions, and social exclusion. JUSALPA’s Protection programs are tailored to address the unique needs of IDPs by providing legal assistance, advocating for their rights, and ensuring access to essential services such as healthcare and education. We also monitor conditions within IDP camps to identify and address protection risks.

Psychosocial Support and Mental Health Services

Recognizing the profound impact of trauma and displacement on mental health, JUSALPA offers psychosocial support and mental health services to those affected by conflict and other crises. Our programs include counseling, support groups, and referrals to specialized care, helping individuals and communities cope with stress and build resilience.

Legal Assistance and Advocacy

JUSALPA provides legal assistance to vulnerable populations, including survivors of GBV, children, and IDPs, to help them navigate legal systems and protect their rights. We also engage in advocacy at the local, national, and international levels to influence policies and practices that enhance protection and uphold human rights.

Community-Based Protection Mechanisms

Empowering communities to take an active role in their own protection is central to our approach. JUSALPA establishes and supports community protection committees that monitor, report, and address protection concerns within their communities. Through training and capacity-building, we equip these committees with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively to protection issues.

Awareness-Raising and Training

Education and awareness-raising are crucial for preventing violence and promoting a culture of protection. JUSALPA conducts training sessions for community members, local leaders, and service providers on topics such as child protection, GBV prevention, and human rights. These efforts help to build a more informed and protective community environment.

Monitoring and Evaluation of Protection Programs

To ensure the effectiveness of our Protection programs, JUSALPA conducts regular monitoring and evaluation. We assess the impact of our interventions, track progress, and make data-driven adjustments to improve outcomes. This commitment to continuous learning and improvement helps us to better protect vulnerable populations and uphold their rights.
